Sharon's VOKRA kitties celebrate in style!
kduncan | February 28, 2010
Kitten season is not quite here, although it will be early this year due to the warm winter. If you are interested in meeting pairs of young kittens, please send in an ap now and put that in one of the open fields. These kittens are mostly male and about 9 weeks old.. tabby with white and siamese mix all from same litter.I am not putting them in picture gallery as it will start an avalanche of applications too early in season.
Again, please do NOT put an application in until you are ready to adopt , otherwise we get confusing back up of applications. This goes for adoption of any age kitties.

We've created a new information page on Socializing Feral Kittens. It's a work in progress, but already contains great links to information and a video published by a fellow cat rescue organization in New York City, the Urban Cat League.

We are having Adoption Events at both our Petsmart adoption centers this weekend.
Petsmart in North Vancouver, 1325 Main Street, beside Marks Work Wearhouse.
Petsmart in Vancouver, 2860 Bentall Street, on Grandview Highway (E.12th Ave.). If going west watch for the Bentall sign and turn left before Boundary.
One of our volunteers will be at the stores after 5:00 on Friday the 12th and from 11:00 to 4:00 on Sat and Sun the 13th /14th.
There will be cats for adoption as well as books with all available kitties listed in them. If you have an application in and would like to come, send a note in if you haven't been interviewed by phone as yet.
If you don't have an application in, please do so as things go much smoother if we have already spoken to you.Be sure and say you plan on coming on the weekend.
I will try and list which cats will be at the stores on Thursday.

While Vancouver heads into the Olympics, VOKRA is getting ready for an early Spring in its 10th year of rescue. We need volunteers in several areas:
We need volunteers to help with Cat Care and Socialization at our two PetSmart Adoption Centre locations, North Vancouver and Grandview Highway. Volunteers must be 18 or older and willing to make a minimum six-month committment. Training is required and provided.
We also need volunteers for Cat Care and Socialization at three other locations, one in south Vancouver, one in Kitsilano, and one in the Burnaby Central Park area.
Please email the Volunteer Coordinator for details.
VOKRA is planning its first annual Walk for the Kitties, to be held on April 25. We need a group of enthusiastic, committed volunteers to help us, starting immediately. We of course will also need plenty of walkers. All ages are welcome!
If you'd like to be part of the Event Team, please email the Volunteer Coordinator.
If you'd like to participate by walking, come along to our Evening of Thanks for our Volunteers and Supporters on March 24 and collect your pledge kit. If you can't make it for that event, email the Volunteer Coordinator and we'll arrange to get pledge kits to you.
Details about the location and time for the Evening of Thanks and the Walk for the Kitties will be posted here on the blog.
