She was rescued by a kind neighbour when they realized that she was pregnant and was being left out during the cold snap that we had. She is an absolutely gorgeous cat who keeps herself meticulously clean. She had a few settling in issues and as her hormones were a bit wonky, she was a challenge to keep up to as she was intent on moving her newborns around continually and doing a lot of crying. Finally, as she became more familiar with her new home, she settled down and has been an amazing mom.  As she is still a very young cat herself, she plays with the kittens as if she was one herself, but her nurturing qualities kick in and she will wrestle them down to the ground to give them a good tongue licking.

Radical changes in her behaviour have become evident since she has weaned the kittens and her scheduled spaying will add to this calmness. She is not much of a lap cat to date, but doesn't mind being picked up and hugged. She also is not afraid of television noise or visitors and can be seen sprawled out next to you on the couch. She talks occasionally, especially little chirps to her kittens and always has a word or two for you when she is let out of the kitten room.

It was also discovered that she had been shot with a pellet gun of some sort at her previous home! When she was spayed the vet found the pellet in her stomach!

Feather still has a wonderful and soft temperament after all that she has been through. We think that she has the potential of being a lovely laid-back, but also playful young cat who would settle into most households.
