If one word could sum up this cat, it would be LOVEBUG! He loves to snuggle on your lap and share your bed at night. If you sleep on your back, he will sleep on your chest. If you sleep on your front, he will curl up on your back. If you sleep on your side, he will perch atop your upper shoulder. Sometimes he feels lickey and will give your face a good exfoliating with his tongue. He is not offended if you decline this offer. Leroy is a good bedfellow and will usually sleep through the night without disturbing you – a rare quality in one so young!
He likes to “brush his teeth” by chewing on a towel or blanket, making little squeaky noises as his teeth rub against the cloth. He has been known to keep his chew towel next to his food dish and brush his teeth mid-meal!
He’s generally a pretty quiet chap, except for when he’s hungry. He does have an amazing array of chirpy meows and murps. He likes to watch TV and is particularly interested in watching the mouse move on a computer screen. He plays a Cat App on the iPad scoring high points for tapping the moving mouse or butterfly with his paws. (he chats to himself while doing this). He likes to chase a laser pen beam across the floor and LOVES little toy mice – the ones covered in real fur. He carries them around his mouth and will sometimes growl if you try to take them away! He also like to watch birds out the window and chatter at them.
He like’s twine scratching posts and pine pellet litter, both of which he uses regularly and exclusively. He eats both chicken wellness and felidae chicken and rice canned food and does not have any tummy trouble switching between these two foods. He has never had dry food. His coat is a beautiful soft gloss from his healthy diet.
I can not say how he would respond to another family pet as I have never had the occasion to expose him to cats other than his siblings and he’s never seen a dog. Because he is young and curious, he may adapt, but would be ok as an only cat to someone who is home a lot and can give him some good snuggle time every day.
Leroy will likely be shy and out of sorts at the adoption centre. He is brave and confident in his own environment, and on one occasion walked up to a service repair man within minutes of this stranger coming into the apartment. He’s not always a fan of being carried around like a baby, but will definitely initiate physical contact with you with his own paws on the ground. Leroy will be an amazing addition to your family
