This gorgeous, wide eyed girl has a big personality bundled into a tiny package. She is one of the most playful and vivacious cats you’ll ever come across! She loves to entertain herself by jumping around acrobatically, throwing her toys in every direction but she especially loves a good game of Chase The String with her people. When she’s not playing she’ll follow her people around and flop down next to them, right onto her back (all legs suspended in the air) and keep them company for as long as possible. If she can score some pats while she luxuriously lazes around then she’s in absolute heaven. She also likes to sit by the window and watch the world go by until it’s time to curl up on the end of the bed and go to sleep for the night.
This beautiful itty bitty kitty (who really could almost be mistaken for a kitten both in size and playfulness) has had quite the journey to us. She was rescued from Hawaii (which for her was definitely no paradise) and was placed in group foster with her brother. The other cats took advantage of her size and timidity and started to pick on her so she was moved to another foster home. Unfortunately even in a smaller setting the other cats still bullied her but she’s now running her new foster home solo and blossoming!
Hana Maui is looking for a forever home where she can be your one and only kitty and also a home that is calm and quiet because she is still scared of loud noises and fast movements. Also because she doesn’t enjoy being picked up and cuddled she needs to be with adults and older children who understand her journey, can help her continue to grow and give her the encouragement that she needs know that she’ll never have to go back to the awful and scary places she has been in her life.
Watching Hana Maui progress as she learns to trust and love is extremely rewarding but her gentle soul and companionship will be reward enough to whoever is lucky enough to adopt her.
Hana has come a long way since her new foster but needs someone with patience & knowledge; a home with someone that knows a lot about kitties that need “special attention”.
