Izzy is a very affectionate, sweet and playful cat. Although it might take a little time, once you gain her trust she is a loving and devoted companion who will greet you at the door, cuddle up on your lap, ‘talk’ to you with little kitty murmurs and mews, and softly paw you awake in the morning.

She is a very gentle and tolerant cat who has never even tried to scratch, nip or bite anyone. She uses her scratch post (has never clawed the furniture), is good about having her claws trimmed and absolutely loves being brushed. Izzy likes to sleep in her own bed, but she enjoys being near you.

Although she is mostly a calm and gentle cat, she will often show her kitten side and race around for fun, especially if chasing a laser pointer (she will even meow at you and run to where the laser pointer is kept, asking for play) or a ping pong ball. She also loves pouncing toy mice, and she is very excited and good at catching any flies or moths that happen to find their way into the house. Izzy is not too picky of an eater, but she really loves the occasional treat and will stand up on her hind paws to take it from your fingers.

She is a curious, intelligent and highly communicative cat (through eye contact, murmurs, and even gently pawing you to get your attention). She can be anxious around strangers and changes to her environment. Her former owners are heartbroken to let her go, but a new baby, frequent visitors and other disruptions to the home were making Izzy increasingly anxious and upset. A quiet, calm home with no young children would be perfect for this very loving and special cat.
