SPIKE is a grey long-haired tabby who is curious and full of love. He came to us with two other nervous, shy kitties (DWENDE and LEELOU). After less than one day, he was the first to emerge from behind the sink, looking at us with big curious eyes. He ate, purred, and stood still for scratches behind the ears. By the third day, Spike was waiting at the door for us, purring and ready to play. He is a big and beautiful boy who will curl into a lap for cuddles and play like the kitten he is. Although he is still skittish and darts away at sudden noises and movements, he is quick to return for more love. We have not tested his comfort around other cats, but he is clearly very happy with his two mates. I suspect that he could be adopted without them, but given how playful he is late at night, I imagine that he would be happier in a house with other pets with whom he can romp. Although a little skittish, Spike has done well with our 4-yr-old daughter when supervised. I imagine that he'll continue growing into a lovely, sociable kitty.
