Jiggy is a 1½ year old neutered male who was trapped in Surrey after the very bad winter of 2009. It’s a wonder he survived as most of his abandoned family was trapped in the fall of 2008, but Jiggy and Malarkey were not found and rescued ‘til Feb 2009, when they were so hungry they appeared in our traps, desperate for food. We have rescued and adopted most of their family, but never did get Mom. Malarkey is Dad, and Jiggy looks just like him, without the Tomcat armour cheek pads and big chest. Jiggy was just a year old when trapped and neutered, so he didn’t get the extra hormones that shape a Tomcat.
Jiggy is nothing but sweet. He took a long time to trust, but his need for affection and loving touch was his undoing, and he couldn’t help himself. He would cower at the back of the crate and turn over and over under my hands, nibbling and licking me-he so wanted to be touched. He’s come along way since then, playing with the other cats in the house, being a regular guy, always greeting me and wanting loves, coming to his name. He only ducks in to the bedroom when strangers come in, but is confident and loving when regular visitors drop by.
Jiggy would do best in a home with another passive cat, or adopted with his foster mate Cheddar. Their purrsonalities compliment each other, they adore one another and are a very pretty pair. Jiggy will need some patience with his shyness, but his person will be rewarded a million times over with how loving and affectionate this cat is.
