Adult cats are so often passed over by adopters. Most overlooked of all are adult black and black-and-white cats. Although VOKRA began as an organization dedicated to bottle-feeding kittens and pregnant/nursing mother cats, over the years we have rescued hundreds of adult cats as well. In 2009, we were asked to take in 48 adult orange cats, all of them the descendants of a single pair! These cats had various physical and behavioural problems, some due to the extreme inbreeding, and many were pregnant.
We love our adult cats just as much as our kittens, and they receive the same superb care in VOKRA foster homes. Because adult cats typically take longer to home, they usually require more food, litter, supplements, and health care than our kittens.
