Georgy is a very loving little girl who’s had a rough time so far in this world. The first record we have of her is from the SPCA. She was brought to them having been hit by a car and sustaining possible brain damage; it seemed to resolve itself, though, and she was adopted from the SPCA by a family. She was then lost by this family, spending a year on the streets before being found under a bush crying, soaking-wet and thin as a rail. We traced her former home via a microchip in her ear, but the people said they didn’t want her back. Her medical exam showed she had a thyroid disorder, which VOKRA treated (with the aid of a kindly donor), and she has since gained weight and looks nothing like the unhappy waif that first came to us.

Georgy’s been estimated to be about 11-years-old. Her thyroid issue has been treated successfully with a daily pill which she gets in a Greenie Pill Pocket; Georgy considers it to be her morning treat! She has early kidney problems which are kept at bay by a weekly shot of subcutaneous fluids. Georgy is also somewhat deaf, though she responds to certain high-frequency sounds. This condition makes her a very relaxed kitty - while other cats, because of the sensitivity of their hearing, are frightened by vacuum cleaners and loud noises, Georgy is quite blase! She’s a very loving cat and, given the chance, she will happily scuttle under the covers at night to sleep up against your side - she makes a delightful hot-water bottle / teddy-bear.

Georgy’s favourite activity is sleeping, but she always loves getting attention and meeting new people. Her idea of a fun game is to have a soft toy thrown at her while she’s on the bed. She wrestles and rolls around with it - generally being silly - for about a minute and then settles down for another nap.

Everyone who meets Georgy falls in love with her. She is a very endearing cat. Georgy prefers to be Queen of Her Domain, but she’s currently learning that it can be alright to share your person, as long as the other critter is appropriately respectful of her venerable age!
Georgy needs an exceptional person who is willing to open their hearts and home to an often-overlooked older cat...someone who will be patient with her occasional bouts of separation anxiety.
